Low D Goldfinch Whistle (3-piece)

Whistles in the key of D are popular choice for musicians attending traditional music sessions or touring long distances with their music. For the convenience of players, we make a 3-piece version of our Low D so that it can be divided into smaller elements and packed with more ease, while the playing properities remain equal to the 2-part Low D Goldfinch Whistle. It is a very versatile with a whistler-friendly playability, soft backpressure and half-holing potential. This is a perfect choice for those who travel a lot and wish to make their luggage more handy or simply prefer to always carry the instrument by their side. Furthermore, the left and right hand fingerhole sections can be freely offturned from the whistles axis for additional convenience. Used for professional album recordings, stage performances and sessions internationally, the Low D Goldfinch Whistle is suitable for both experienced musicians looking for a reliable instrument and begginers who wish to start their adventure with low whistles and the pipers grip.

What I find significant in Goldfinch Whistles is the capability of free, effortless playing in the “ups”, from the half of the second octave up to the third (from a2 to e3) while the sound quality of the lower register remains solid.

Ewelina Grygier

The sound is interesting and complex enough that is works beautifully amplified, recorded or purely acoustically. In fact my colleagues like the sound so much that we have transposed other sets just so we can keep using it.

Jacquelyn Hynes

The tone of my favourite models mid Bb and low F complement the saxophone perfectly, they are excellent in musical experiments across different genres.

There is no great gap between the lower and higher notes in pressure. Many experienced players appreciate it. Apart from that, the responsiveness, sweet tone and the whistle’s unique character are of utmost importance to me.
